Andrea is a STOTT PILATES and Yoga Alliance Certified Instructor. She obtained a B.A. in Environmental Studies and a minor in Marine Biology from Hawaii Pacific University in 2002. Having grown up very active in dance and college volleyball she found herself naturally drawn to other types of movement. Discovering yoga helped her deepen her understanding of the mind, body and spirit connection while creating a student within herself, wanting to learn more about the body and movement.
Andrea began her yoga studies in 2005 with It’s Yoga Puerto Rico. Completing a 200 hour Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Alliance Certified system, created by Larry Schultz and taught by David Kyle.
Wanting to continue her education, she began practicing pilates and became certified in the STOTT Pilates method – training in both Canada and Hawaii. Pilates helped her understanding of anatomy and biomechanics and created a realization that the two practices complement each other well. Because of this she now teaches yoga, pilates, and a fusion class where she combines the two practices, bringing out the benefits of both.
She has a devotion for continuing her own education and most importantly she loves teaching and enjoys helping her students develope their own practice.
